Te Pūtahi-Nui-o-Rehua

A Trust that is focused on helping Māori to thrive.

We aim to support local Māori people through Kaupapa Māori approaches to health, housing, finance, and employment.

Our goals are to increase housing independence, improved financial literacy, food and water security, as well as oranga whanau (wellbeing).

Tihewa Tiny Homes

Tiheiwa “a breath of new life” is a Māori approach to addressing Māori housing.

Introducing the Whare Aroha: stand-alone minor dwellings that come complete with a fully functional bathroom and kitchenette.

Rest assured, our units have received all necessary permits and certificates, with sign-offs from the Far North District Council, including code of compliance, plumbing, gas, and electrical COC.

As part of our goal to increase housing independance, these affordable units are available for purchase.

As a part of our Charitable Trust, money made on the sale of these units is used to support our Oranga Whanau Social Services.

Oranga Whanau

“Mai te whenua, ki te rangi tū haha”

"From Mother Earth to the Universe and beyond" describes our intent and aspiration for Māori to realise their own limitless potential.

As a Kaupapa Māori programme which embraces Tino Rangatiratanga (self- determination), we are here to support our whanau/clients in the mid-North area on their journey of oranga (wellbeing).

We will help support our clients to reach their goals of financial security, employment independence and positive wellbeing.

Some of the ways in which we achieve this is by offering and supporting financial literacy, employment opportunities, positive mental health and wellbeing, and utilising Rongoa Māori.
